We just experienced an earthquake here in the Los Angeles area. Even though the epicenter was more than 50 miles south of Santa Clarita, we still had two strong jolts. Typically, all insurance companies impose a moratorium period, 30 days or, so, where they will not write new earthquake insurance policies for property located within 100 miles of the epicenter. Contact your agent right away if you need more information or have experienced any damage from this earthquake. We are always glad to provide you with the information you need.
It is reported that the earthquake was a 5.4 magnitude, centered in Chino Hills. There is some damage, like a broken water main at Cal State University in Los Angeles, but no one has reported any injuries, so that is the good news.
