If you have a home that is a custom design or a one-of-a-kind property you may have some difficulty finding homeowner's insurance in Santa Clarita. This is the case with the William S. Hart mansion here in the Newhall section of Santa Clarita.
This home was built in 1921, after the 250 acre ranch was purchased by Hart. It is a 22 room mansion with more than 10,000 square feet of living area. William S. Hart was a silent film era cowboy star and director, making over 65 films.
In 1962 Walt Disney Studios donated a small herd of bison to the ranch, which was turned into Hart Park and willed to Los Angeles County by Hart upon his death in 1946.
This home would be hard to insure for many reasons. There is nothing to compare it to in all of the Santa Clarita Valley. So if your home is more typical of the area, is not sitting on 250 acres and is in need of homeowner's insurance, please contact me for more information.
